Indicating required fields (mandatory-fields)
Required fields are clearly marked (e.g., with an asterisk) and the instruction should be provided to explain that the field is mandatory (e.g., “*Required”).
Group required indicator placed on child labels:
The checkbox group itself is required, but the “required” indicator is applied to individual option labels instead of appearing in the group’s <legend>.
