Adjacent button labels field (adjacent-button-label)

An adjacent button with a clear name labels its field; button and field are adjacent visually and in reading order.

Ambiguous button to multiple fields:

The single “Search” button is centered between two inputs, making it unclear which field it labels. Because adjacency applies to both fields, the pairing is ambiguous and the button cannot reliably act as a label for a specific field.

Note: Impossible to fully auto-test. A human tester or AI is required to judge whether a single button appears to label multiple fields (i.e., ambiguous adjacency) in the visual layout. Automated tools can only partially flag heuristics (for example, detecting multiple text fields at similar DOM depth near the same button), but cannot confirm which pairing users will perceive.
