Icons and symbols maintain a contrast ratio of at least 3:1 against their background.


Icon unrecognizable on gradient:

The phone icon below sits on a vertical gradient. Large portions of the icon overlap background colors that are too similar (<3:1), so when those low-contrast areas are treated as invisible, the remaining visible shape is not recognizable as a phone.

Large mid-section of the icon sits on near-matching gradient stops (<3:1), erasing essential features → remaining outline isn’t identifiable.

Note: Impossible to automatically test. Requires a human tester or AI to determine whether the remaining high-contrast portions still form a recognizable icon.
